The following appeared in the June 13, 2008, Dunn Daily Record, and was written by Bart Adams, Editor in Chief. I appreciate the kind words: Kudos to Rep. David Lewis for voting against the bloated House budget last week. "This budget creates an unsustainable $125 million deficit, expands the size of state government, and continues to allow the practice of raiding Education Funds and the Highway Trust Fund," Rep. Lewis said in a news release. "Harnett County's working families are making tough decisions ... and cutting extras out of their family budgets," he added. "Most politicians in Raleigh aren't willing to make difficult choices." He's right about that. If only politicians would spend our money with the same care they spend their own.
