Memor is getting ready for taking part in the JA-YE Europe Company of the Year Competition. This year it will be held in Stockholm from the 24th to the 27th of July 2008. 
Around 30 company's from Europe will be taking part in the competition that weekend, and it will be held in Kungsträdgården witch is a garden in the center of Stockholm. Contestants will be staying at Stockholm's biggest hotel, the Clarion Hotel Sign. This will be the 19th JA-YE Europe Company of the Year Competition, each company will be competing to win the pries for the best company. 
The last night a gala dinner will be in the town hall where there will be a show for the guests and announcing of the winners of the competition.
The competition is divided in to 4 categories: - 12 page business report with all information about Memor.
- A presentation of the company in front of audience.
- Product presentation.
- Interview with a panel of judges.
Each category gives 100 points, all in all 400 points. We at Memor are working hard at improving Recall. We are looking for endorsements and working on all the other project that need to be finished before the competition. We plan on wining the competition because we are certain that we will be of a help to students all over the world, along with making an example for young innovative individuals. |

The company competition award ceremony was held at Glitnir head office, Kirkjusandi, today, Friday 25th of April. The outcome of the competition was announced and an award given out to the best company along with six other award categories. What was taken into consideration during the evaluating process was profit, the business plan and administration. Glitnir is the main founder of the company competition. This years winners, that is the best company, was Memor from the comprehensive collage Ármúli!  With this victory Memor earned the right to take part in Junior Achievements European company competition, which is held in Stockholm, Sweden, this summer. Memor also received a price for the brightest hope. That price is given for a product or service that the judging committee find most likely to succeed in the future on an open market. On the judging comittee were Pálína Árnadóttir, accountant and one of the owners of Deloitte, Vilborg Þórarinsdóttir, office manager of Glitnis at Suðurlandsbraut and Dr. Eyþór Ívar Jónsson, CEO Klaks frumkvöðlaseturs.

Memor received a prize for the best sale stand in Smáralind.
11 company's came and introduced their products and services to the public at Smáralind. The Minister of trade Björgvin G. Sigurðsson addressed the crowd at the opening of the mass. He encouraged the students and said to not hesitate in contacting his ministry for information concerning the companies. Gunnar Jónatansson, Junior Achievement chairman also gave a speech and with it formally opened the sales convention. Memor came, saw and conquered. Memor received first price for the best sales stand. A fantastic display of their software and icon, a goldfish, Little Memor. It was unanimously agreed that the companies this year were by far the most innovative and that hard work and creativity shown through on every sale stand. There were a lot of nominees for the best sale person but Íris Rún Karlsdóttir from Þorsti was given that prize for her excellent work in introducing their partnership with the church and their project in helping to set up water fountains in Malvina. | Memor has finally hired a programmer who is willing to help us making our idea a reality. During the day he works as a programmer for CCPgames, well known for their great game EVE online.

Memor gets ready for the productmass at Smáralind |

| | | The product mass at Smáralind is getting closer and closer. It will start on Friday the 28th and end on Saturday. It will include announcements of the winners for ´best sales person´ and ´best sales stand´. 
We encourage everyone to show up that weekend and see what all the schools have to offer, that are taking part in the Junior Achievement competition in Iceland. See you there ! |
