What makes Chatters?
NEWS JUST IN: New servers in Australia and 2 more in South Africa !!!
The Chatters IRC Network is currently running Unreal IRCD version 3.2.6 and 3.2.7 - We have 11 servers all over which includes South Africa, Germany, The UK, The U.S.A and Canada. We are using version 5.1 of IRCServices and version 3 of Neostats.
Our Network hubs are situated in USA and South Africa. Our DNS Server is situated in Germany with a 40gb backbone and we also have a windows box with a 10gb backbone which is also situated in Germany.
Each server can hold 1024 users, and seeing that we only allow 8 servers for client connections we can have a total userbase of over 8000 users. If we do get to that amount of users we will get more client connections.
So as you can see we do have a very strong foundation, our servers are very stable and we always strive to make it better.
Channel Selection Made EASY
Due to the wonderful idea of Chat27 we've come up with a solution for our Chat 27 users. However anybody on the Chatters IRC Network can use it. Firstly all Chat 27 connections are routed on our "chat27.chatters.co.za" server. All the rooms (channels) that we have on the Chat 27 website has a bot called channel-selection. Now here is the good part, you do not have to disconnect to join one of our other channels thats on the Chat 27 website. You can now just type !channelname - Example being !adultsonly, !volwasseklets, !gt-radio, !harem, !7destraat, !genocide, !cyberkafee, !2010 and the rest of the channels thats on that page and you will automaticly join that channel.
Our Cell Phone Chatters
Chatters IRC Network has become a home for a group of cell (mobile) chatters. They are situated all over the world, from Indonesia to South Africa. We trust and hope that you guys will have some fun times with us and join us more often. We have also optimised a server for our cell chatters, specially for the people in South Africa. The server address is 3g.chatters.co.za / gprs.chatters.co.za or cell.chatters.co.za
Promote Your Channel
We are in the process of adding a new feature to our network, to promote your channel. We believe what makes us different is that our channels don't compete, on Chatters IRC Network, we all a family and by doing so we give you the chance to promote your channel. You have to join #advertise for more information, however the feature is not available as yet. We will provide more info once this service is available.
